SOLING AP-2 MAINSAIL
The AP-2 is an All-Purpose mainsail designed to cover a full range of conditions for crews of all sizes. It was initially developed with the assistance of Olympic medalists, Jochen Schuemann and Jeff Madrigali and further developed later with the help of Paul Davis and Hans Fogh, to become our all-purpose main. This sail features 5.46 Contender yarn tempered cloth in the head and foot areas and 260 Dimension/Polyant medium firm finish cloth in the body of the sail. The yarn tempered cloth reduces speed-robbing stretch in the high load head and clew areas. We make the body of the sail out of softer cloth to allow bias stretch in the center which makes the sail more forgiving to trim, throughout the range.
